Ramadan Rizq Program

The Ramadan and Eid Food Kits Program is a flagship initiative of the TASK Educational, Charitable and Welfare Trust, embodying the spirit of charity, compassion, and community support. The program addresses the nutritional needs of underprivileged families during the holy month of Ramadan and the festive period of Eid.

Program Overview and History

  • Establishment: The program was established in 2016.

  • Initial Support (2016): The Trust distributed food kits worth ₹54,550 in the program's inaugural year.

  • Expansion (2018): The program expanded its reach by distributing 40 Ramadan food kits and 65 Eid kits, benefiting families across the districts of Mysore, Bangalore, and Tumkuru. The total cost of the initiative that year was ₹1,18,750.

  • Streamlining (2019): Distribution processes were streamlined by registering beneficiaries, maintaining accurate records, and establishing direct communication channels.

  • Membership: Beneficiaries were provided a five-year membership in the Trust, enabling continuous support during that time. The program supported 65 registered families and 20 non-member families in 2019.

  • Recent Impact (2024): The program benefited 43 families.

  • Total Expenditure: At the time of the report's publication, the Trust had spent over ₹6 Lakh Indian Rupees towards this program.

  • Zakat-Eligibility: The kits are Zakat-eligible, allowing donors to fulfill their religious obligations.

  • Beneficiaries: The program supports a diverse range of individuals and families, including:

    • Widows and elderly women.

    • Daily wage workers, auto drivers, scrap sellers, and mechanics.

    • Single mothers, disabled persons, students heading households, and families engaged in low-income occupations like agarbatti manufacturing and domestic help.

  • Selection Process: Beneficiary selection is based on references, verified documentation (such as Aadhaar and ration cards), and a rigorous process to ensure the aid reaches those most in need.

  • Inclusivity: The program does not discriminate based on gender, caste, class, or religion.
